Breaking Barriers in Women’s Sport
Advocacy • Journalism • Community Action
Breaking Barriers is a youth-led initiative addressing gender inequity in sports through storytelling, policy analysis, and on-ground action. Using basketball as both a lens and a tool, the project amplifies women’s voices, challenges systemic bias, and creates inclusive spaces for girls in sport—rooted in the Hong Kong context and informed by global best practices.

What We Do
Journalism. Research. Community Action.
01
We tell stories
Of women athletes, coaches, psychologists, and advocates whose experiences are often overlooked.
02
We analyze systems
Media coverage, funding models, school policies, and access to facilities—to understand where inequities persist.
03
We act locally
By running free basketball clinics that combine skill-building with confidence, mental health, and empowerment.
ABOUT
Where Sport Meets Social Justice
A student-led platform at the intersection of equity, policy, and play
I am currently an IB student studying at Renaissance College in Hong Kong, bringing an international background to all my interests and discussions. Since I was a kid, basketball has been a constant presence in my life, serving as a foundation of discipline and drive. This personal journey has deeply informed my commitment to gender and women's rights, particularly my focus on addressing gender disparities within sports. I advocate for true equity on the playing field. Beyond the court, I have a keen interest in politics. I believe understanding these frameworks is essential for creating meaningful, systemic change. This website is where I explore the powerful intersections of sports, social justice, and policy. Thank you for visiting!
